Since I had held my old PETRI FT camera on my hand I was loving “to tell stories by images”. So I was shooting for fun during all my youth, using a point-and-shoot camera, SLR or TLR cameras and trying to immortalize “forever” what my eyes were watching. I came to photography more seriously thanks to my wonderful and beloved wife Silvia who gave me an extraordinary gift, my first DSLR, my real starting point on photography “in the age of internet”.
So I began to study more accurately Photography, Digital Imaging and Web Design, spending almost all my time, weekends and vacations on books and on computer and obviously with my camera! I studied the National Geographic photographers: an extraordinary adventure inside photography art and photojournalism.
Being a photographer concerns more with a lifestyle than with a labor, as Dan Heller – a photographer from California – says.
So I am continously working and studying to find my lifestyle, working hard to realize my dreams. We don’t know if a dream turns real or not: it doesn’t matter! The importance is “living the dream” and working to make it real, without any regrets.
Like most professions being a photographer is hard work. But as Bryan Peterson says, “why not work at something you really love to do?”. I particularly love travel and socio-cultural reportage photography in which you can receive the “gift” to learn from the spirit of the people and place and to share that to the world by images and by words.

Sin da quando ho tenuto fra le mani la mia vecchia PETRI FT  ho sempre amato “raccontare storie attraverso le immagini“. Così ho sempre scattato per puro divertimento in gioventù, utilizzando fotocamere compatte, SLR o TLR, cercando di immortalare “per sempre” ciò che i miei occhi osservavano. Sono giunto più seriamente alla fotografia grazie alla mia meravigliosa e adorata moglie, Silvia, che mi fece un regalo straordinario, la mia prima reflex digitale, il mio battesimo nella fotografia al tempo di internet.
Così ho cominciato a studiare più accuratamente Fotografia, Digital Imaging e Web Design, trascorrendo la maggior parte del mio tempo, dei miei weekend e delle mie vacanze sui libri, sul computer e ovviamente con la mia macchina fotografica! Ho studiato i grandi fotografi del National Geographic: un’avventura straordinaria dentro l’arte fotografica e il fotogiornalismo.
Essere un fotografo ha a che fare più con uno stile di vita che con un mestiere, dice Dan Heller, un fotografo californiano.
Così io sto continuamente lavorando e studiando per scovarlo, lavorando duramente affinché si realizzino i miei sogni. Non importa però che un sogno diventi realtà o meno! L’importante è “viverlo” e lavorare affinché si realizzi, senza alcun rimpianto.
Come molte professioni fare il fotografo è un duro lavoro. Ma come dice Bryan Peterson, “perché non fare allora qualcosa che si ama veramente”? Amo particolarmente la fotografia di reportage di viaggio e socio-culturali, nei quali ricevi il “dono” di apprendere dallo spirito della gente del luogo, condividendolo al mondo intero attraverso le immagini e le parole.
